Smokey
We rescued our sweet Siberian Husky from terrible living conditions when he was 1.5 years old. He is now 6 years old and living his best life on the homestead!

Ollie
Our adventurous hunter is 4 years old. He is on rodent patrol outdoors during the day and a well-rested indoor cat at night!

“The Twins” – Hughey & Sassy
These two are a dynamic duo; an inseparable brother and sister combo. Though these two are still very young, they will be the ultimate barn cats once they hit maturity!

“The Girls” – Our Layers
We have a Plymouth Barred Rock, a Golden Laced Wyandottesome Rhode Island Reds, Cinnamon Queens, Black Copper Marans, Silkies, and a few “barnyard mixes” that make up our laying flock.

“The Roos” – Our Roosters
We have a total of 3 roosters to keep all of “the girls” happy. We have a Rhode Island Red, a Silkie, and a Freedom Ranger rooster. We raised the Rhode Island Red rooster since he was a chick and it’s been a fantastic experience seeing him grow to be the man he is today!

The Ducks
We currently have 8 ducks in total; 6 females and 2 males. 4 of our ducks are pure bred Silver Appleyards, which is a heritage breed, while 1 duck is a Silver Appleyard mix. We also have 2 Pekins and 1 barnyard mix male duck.

The Geese
We have a friendly trio of Embden geese who are quite charming; 2 Embden females and 1 Embden male. They have piercing, icy blue eyes and the whitest feathers. We also have 1 Pilgrim female who is stunning and has heterochromia, where she has 1 blue eye and 1 brown eye.

The Piggies
We have 2 pigs that are a mating pair named Penny and Pedro, which are both American Guinea Hogs. The American Guinea Hog is a heritage breed, so they are great foragers and slow growing. This makes the breed ideal for small farms and homesteads as the foraging keeps feed costs lower. The pair also helps us manage our land sustainably. Penny is incredibly friendly and especially loves her belly rubs! We’re still working on Pedro.

The Rabbits
We currently have 5 American Chinchilla breeder rabbits, which are also a heritage breed. We have 4 females named Annabelle, Bailey, Chrysanthemum and Daisy, and 1 male named Monte. The American Chinchillas are on the “critical” list of endangerment, so it is a blessing to be able to raise them and help preserve them! They are well known for their meat as well as their incredibly soft, beautiful pelts.
